Why do I need a coach?
Coaching is valuable because of its relational nature. Relationships have the power to be energizing, and by doing personal development work in a relational context, there can be an extra energy boost. Pursuing inner work and personal goals alone can be a difficult process, and it’s easy to let it go when there is no one there to support you in overcoming the obstacles of self-doubt, resistance, overwhelm, negative thoughts, disconnection, etc. The relational context can also provide you with fresh questions that yield to deeper introspection and inspiration, and resources that you wouldn’t be exposed to otherwise. Coaching is an opportunity to receive quality attention focused on your well-being.
How is coaching different from therapy?
Coaching is a good fit for people that have a baseline level of functionality in their lives and to thrive, whereas therapy is a better fit for those who do not have baseline functionality, and need help getting to that place of stability. Coaching can be more proactive that many styles of therapy, because it has a greater emphasis on intentionality within the session, visioning, strategy, and actualizing the potential of the individual without sacrificing the inner work and processing necessary for this to occur.
How is coaching different from consulting?
Coaching is different from consulting in that we will prompt you to find your own answers rather than provide you with advice. However, in some cases we may offer to teach you something we have learned if it is relevant, or offer a suggestion.
